This Sunday afternoon, May 4th, at 1pm CAGE (Cornell Avant-Garde Ensemble) will perform at Cornell’s Johnson Museum of Art along with the amazing Peni Candra Rini (ISI Surakarta, Indonesia) and Jessika Kenney (Seattle, Washington). The performance will take place across several galleries of the museum, beginning in the new wing and culminating in the main lobby.

Cornell Avant Garde Ensemble (CAGE)

Peni Candra Rini, from ISI Surakarta, Indonesia, and Jessika Kenney, from Seattle, Washington, are two singer/composer/improvisers who have distinguished themselves internationally with both the depth of their mastery of traditional musics and their adventurousness and creativity. During their two-week residency at Cornell they will develop their collaborative musical relationship with the Cornell Avant Garde Ensemble (CAGE). They will also coach students in the Cornell Gamelan Ensemble and the Cornell Music Improvisation Ensemble.
